The Seven Tigers of GuangZhou Football Club is a Chinese football club, based in the province of Guangzhou, China. One of the most popular football clubs in Asia, the club was a founding member of the Chinese Football Cup (CFC) in 2002, and has been considered one of the elite Chinese football clubs since its CFC debut. The Tigers are the reigning Chinese champions. having won the 2008-09 Chinese Football Cup and many other smaller tournaments. Ping Jun Lee has been the manager of the club since its league debut in 2002. == Early years (1998–2006)==
The club was formed as The Guangzhou Warriors in 1998 as the works team of Zhou Xi industries. The clubs shirts were black and red halves. The club played in the biannual Guangzhou soccer tournament, before the club entered the Chinese Football Club (CFC) in 2002 for its national league debut.
